Coyote Moon Golf Course

Coyote Moon opened in 2000 as a public championship layout threaded through the pine forest and granite outcroppings northwest of Truckee, California. A routing was first sketched in the mid-1990s by architect Homer Flint, and former touring professional Brad Bell was brought in to finish and refine the design, which carries his name. The course is celebrated for its isolation: there is no housing lining the fairways, only towering Jeffrey pines, exposed granite boulders, and Trout Creek, which winds through the property. Stretching beyond 7,100 yards from the back tees at roughly 6,200 feet of elevation, it rewards thin mountain air with long carries while demanding precision around the rock. It is consistently ranked among the top public and mountain courses in the Sierra Nevada region.
