Debordieu Club

DeBordieu Club anchors an exclusive private beach community south of Pawleys Island near Georgetown, South Carolina. Its golf course opened in March 1987, replacing an earlier reversible ten-hole layout that developer Wallace Pate had built for the DeBordieu Colony development. Pete Dye, joined by his son P.B. Dye, designed the conventional 18-hole course as the centerpiece of the property. The result is vintage Dye: a long, tight, and demanding par-72 layout stretching past 7,000 yards, threaded with sand, water, and the visual intimidation that made the architect famous. Set amid Lowcountry marsh and maritime forest, the course sits close enough to the Atlantic that steady sea breezes add real teeth to an otherwise open design. A Georgian-style clubhouse of roughly 30,000 square feet overlooks the grounds, reinforcing DeBordieu's standing as one of the Grand Strand's premier private clubs.
