Est. 1999 · Rick Forester
Why we love this place
We love Eagle Pointe for its surprising terrain. Rick Forester found real elevation, lakes, a gully and the Old River on the edge of Houston's coastal plain, and the city of Mont Belvieu keeps investing to make its public course a destination.

About Eagle Pointe Golf Club
Eagle Pointe Golf Club is the City of Mont Belvieu's public course, east of Houston in Chambers County. Houston architect Rick Forester designed the 18-hole, par-71 layout, which opened in 1999. The ground is unusually lively for the Gulf Coast plain: tree-lined holes rise and fall over rolling terrain with real elevation change, a series of lakes and a gully cut through the property, and the Old River forms the boundary of several holes. In 2019 the city hired the architecture firm Fry/Straka to prepare a masterplan for the course, aimed at new greens turf, much-improved bunkers, better surface and subsurface drainage, and tree thinning to open up light and air and highlight specimen trees, with golfer surveys and GPS data loggers informing the plan. The city has since invested in the clubhouse and practice facilities as well.
