About The Lakes At Castle Hills

The course opened in the late 1990s as The Golf Club at Castle Hills, an upscale public-access Jay Morrish design anchoring Bright Realty's Castle Hills community in Lewisville. After years of decline, brothers Chris and Clay Bright reclaimed control in 2010, closed the course in May 2011 for a Morrish-directed renovation (new MiniVerde greens, added lakes and streams) and reopened it on September 24, 2011 as The Lakes at Castle Hills, with Hank Haney relocating his golf-school headquarters there. The club went fully private in May 2014 and has served as a qualifying site for the U.S. Open and Texas State Amateur. (Opening-year sources conflict between 1997 and 1999.)
