Forest Highlands Golf Club

Forest Highlands sits at roughly 7,000 feet just south of downtown Flagstaff, a cool-climate escape from Arizona's desert heat and one of the state's most celebrated private clubs. The original Canyon Course, crafted by the design partnership of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, opened in 1988 and threads through the largest stand of Ponderosa pine on earth, mingled with oak and aspen. The routing is unconventional and memorable: the designers strung together an unusual balance of par-threes, fours, and fives, with a stretch of alternating one-shotters that gives the layout its own rhythm. Elevation, pine-framed corridors, and mountain air make it play unlike almost anything else in Arizona. Long ranked among the finest courses in the state and recognized nationally, the Canyon set the standard that later prompted the club to add a second course, the Meadow.
