Founded in 1896 and shaped by Donald Ross, Exmoor is North Shore golf history in one place. We love that Chick Evans himself called it home. A charter WGA club that helped organize the game we all play now deserves a long, appreciative look.

About Exmoor Country Club
Exmoor Country Club was incorporated in October 1896 after its founders acquired the 93-acre Stupey farm in Highland Park, making it one of Illinois' earliest golf clubs. The original course came from Chicago golf pioneer Herbert J. Tweedie, and in 1915 the renowned Donald Ross reworked the layout that anchors the club today. Exmoor holds a foundational place in the game's Midwestern history as a charter member of the Western Golf Association. Its championship résumé includes the 1933 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 1965 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur, and it counts a remarkable trio of U.S. Amateur champions among its home members: Chandler Egan, the great Chick Evans, and Davidson Herron. Set in the affluent North Shore suburbs, Exmoor remains one of the area's most storied clubs.
