Farm Neck Golf Club

Farm Neck Golf Club opened in 1979 on a peninsula of rolling farmland on the eastern side of Martha's Vineyard, overlooking Nantucket Sound in Oak Bluffs. Its creation grew out of a hard-fought conservation battle: after an earlier developer's plans collapsed, Farm Neck Associates acquired the land and built a course designed to preserve the natural landscape. The layout, credited to Geoffrey Cornish along with Bill Robinson and Patrick Mulligan, threads through wetlands, meadows, and stands of trees with intermittent ocean views. Operated as a semi-private club, Farm Neck opens to public play seasonally from spring into December and is widely regarded as the island's premier course. Over the years it has drawn national praise and hosted vacationing U.S. presidents, cementing its reputation as one of New England's most cherished summer golf destinations.
