Fox Run Golf Club

Est. 1969 · Steve Durkee (1999-2000 18-hole course; replaced Stan Johnson's 1969 nine)
Why we love this place

Fox Run feels different from most Vermont golf: wide, heathland-style fairways rolling across open ground near Okemo, plus a four-hole short course and a serious practice area. Steve Durkee's layout is fun for everyone and polished enough for pro championships.

About Fox Run Golf Club

Fox Run began in 1969 as a nine-hole executive course on the 150-acre Moore family dairy farm in Ludlow, designed and built by local resident Stan Johnson. Several groups owned it over the years, with the Garvey family running it from 1977 to 1997. Okemo Mountain Resort, under Tim and Diane Mueller, then bought the property and bulldozed the old nine; Vermont architect Steve Durkee designed and built an entirely new course, and the first nine of the renamed Okemo Valley Golf Club opened in 1999, with all 18 holes in play the following year. Vail Resorts took over along with Okemo in 2018, and in April 2021 new owners bought the club and restored the Fox Run name. The heathland-style par 70 runs about 6,400 yards across rolling ground, with a four-hole short course and a ten-acre practice area. It has hosted the Vermont PGA and NEPGA Senior championships.
