Green Valley Country Club in Greenville was designed by South Carolina architect George W. Cobb (ASGCA) and opened in 1958. The project originated when a group of Greenville businessmen in the mid-1950s wanted a course away from the center of town, and Cobb was engaged as architect. The course was later updated by Tom Jackson (2001), and despite the "Country Club" name it operates as a daily-fee/public course.
