Gulf Stream Golf Club, in the Town of Gulf Stream about fifteen miles south of Palm Beach, traces to late 1923 when friends organized the Gulf Stream Realty Company and acquired land from the ocean to the Intracoastal. Donald Ross was retained to design the course, and the club opened for play in 1924 with a Spanish-style clubhouse designed by Addison Mizner. It is a historic private club and a product of the 1920s Florida land boom.
