Haggin Oaks Golf Complex

Haggin Oaks' MacKenzie Course was designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie and opened as a public course on October 1, 1932, with Michael "Mac" McDonagh assisting construction. The land is named for thoroughbred magnate James Ben Ali Haggin. Ben Hogan earned his first professional paycheck ($350) with a third-place finish at the 1938 Sacramento Open here. City-owned, the complex grew to 36 holes with the Arcade Creek course.
