About Hideaway East
The East nine is the original course at Hide-A-Way Lake, dating to 1967 when developer James W. Fair opened the gated community with a nine-hole golf course in its founding plan. It is one of three nine-hole layouts (Central, East, West) that together form the club's 27-hole private facility. Directories credit John Haynes as designer of the 1967 nine, a par-36 layout of 3,274 yards from the back tees. While the West and Central nines were rebuilt in 2004-05, the East nine received a greens conversion in 2007; it pairs with the Central nine (par 72, 6,573 yards) or the West nine (par 71, 6,222 yards).
