Holly Tree Country Club opened in 1973 on the former Gilder Plantation in Simpsonville, with a George Cobb-designed par-72 course; members bought the club from its founding partners in 1975. Holes 9 and 18 share a St. Andrews-style double green. Beau Welling renovated the course in 2014, and it has hosted Carolinas Golf Association championships.
