About Kempsville Greens Golf Course

Kempsville Greens, at 4840 Princess Anne Road, is one of Virginia Beach's municipal golf courses, an 18-hole, par-70 layout with Bermuda fairways, bentgrass greens and water in play on several holes. The VSGA lists it as opened in 1957 to a Russell Breeden design (some directories say 1954). It predates most of the suburb around it: when developer Clarence Byler began building the Larkspur neighborhood in the 1950s, the course was already there.
