About Maridoe Golf Club
Maridoe Golf Club opened in 2017 on a Carrollton site north of Dallas with a long golf lineage, having previously operated as the Columbian Club and later the Honors Club dating to the 1950s. Oil-and-gas businessman Albert Huddleston bought the property and commissioned architect Steve Smyers for a complete redesign, naming it Maridoe after his wife's childhood nickname. Smyers routed a demanding, strategy-rich course across gently rolling, tree-studded ground anchored by a 28-acre lake, stretching past 7,800 yards from the tips with firm, angular greens that reward precise shot-shaping and repeatedly force players to work away from the target. The club quickly became a proving ground for elite competition, hosting top amateur events including a U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball, and drew national attention when it staged the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship.
