Oak Quarry Golf Club

Oak Quarry sits in the Jurupa Mountains near Riverside, built into the footprint of the historic Jensen Quarry. The site was mined for limestone, marble and dozens of other minerals used in Southern California construction, and during World War I it was a notable regional marble source before operations were abandoned in 1979. Roughly two decades later, architects Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley of Schmidt-Curley Design, working with PGA Tour Champions star Dr. Gil Morgan, routed a golf course through the dramatic rock walls and elevation changes the quarry left behind. The layout opened around 2000 and quickly drew acclaim for its bold, one-of-a-kind setting. It was named the National Golf Course Owners Association's Course of the Year in 2013 and has appeared on Golf Magazine's Top 100 Courses You Can Play.
