Palmer Course at La Cantera

The Palmer Course at La Cantera opened in March 2001 as the second eighteen at the San Antonio resort, joining the earlier Weiskopf-Morrish Resort layout. Arnold Palmer, working with longtime design partner Ed Seay, routed the par-71 course across roughly 250 acres of rugged Texas Hill Country, measuring about 6,900 yards from the back tees. Elevation changes and native limestone shape the character throughout. The signature par-3 fourth demands a carry over water and features the Winnie Palmer Memorial Bridge, a tribute to Palmer's late wife, Winifred. The closing eighteenth drops dramatically toward a green framed by waterfalls beneath the clubhouse. Blending scenery with strategic variety, the Palmer Course has matured into one of the region's most enjoyable resort tests.
