About Patty Jewett Municipal Golf Course

Patty Jewett opened in 1898 as the Town and Gown Golf Club, laid out by Scottish-born professional Willie Campbell, making it one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi. Long Island transplant William K. Jewett bought the property in 1910, and in 1919 he deeded it to the City of Colorado Springs, named for his late wife Patty, on condition that it remain a public park devoted mainly to golf and open to all. Today the city-owned facility plays 27 holes and doubles as a neighborhood hub and small wildlife refuge.
