Piankatank River Golf Club, Middlesex County's only course, was built by brothers Johnny and E.G. Fleet on about 400 acres of fields and forest, much of it in the Fleet family for 11 generations. Algie Pulley designed it, construction began in 1994, and it opened in July 1996. The front nine plays over streams and elevation changes, and the back nine runs links-style toward the river.
