Spanish Oaks Golf Club

Spanish Oaks Golf Club anchors a gated Hill Country community in Bee Cave, just west of Austin, developed by Discovery Land Company. Architect Bobby Weed designed the private, par-71 course and has continued to consult on it since construction, threading fairways through a rugged valley of limestone outcroppings, native grasses and preserved live oaks while keeping the surrounding home sites elevated above play. Weed's minimal-earthmoving approach earned the layout a reputation as one of the most environmentally sensitive courses ever built in Texas, using reclaimed water and replanting more than a dozen native Hill Country grasses. Dramatic elevation changes, exposed rock and firm, tilted greens give the roughly 7,000-yard course a wild, natural character that has kept it among the highest-ranked private clubs in the state.
