The Sea Ranch Golf Links

Perched on the rugged Sonoma coast roughly three hours north of San Francisco, The Sea Ranch Golf Links grew out of the pioneering Sea Ranch community, a 1960s development conceived to live in harmony with its dramatic bluff-top landscape. Architect Robert Muir Graves laid out the original nine holes, which opened in 1974, routing the course gently over the coastal meadows and cypress in a restrained, minimalist style. His second nine followed decades later, opening in 1995 and completing an 18-hole layout of about 6,649 yards at par 72. The links-inspired design, blending windswept seaside terrain with firm, running turf, was among the first of its kind on the West Coast, and the course has long been prized for its raw ocean scenery and unpretentious character.
