The Tribute Golf Links

The Tribute Golf Links opened around the turn of the millennium in The Colony, Texas, as one of the country's most ambitious replica courses. Architect Tripp Davis set out to recreate the feel of a British Isles pilgrimage on the banks of Lake Lewisville, borrowing the shapes and strategies of some of golf's most storied links holes. The routing famously nods to the Old Course at St Andrews, including a closing stretch with a version of the fabled Road Hole and a Swilcan-style bridge, while the short par-3 fifth pays homage to Royal Troon's tiny Postage Stamp. The public, links-style layout stretches to roughly 7,000 yards at par 72. In 2017 Davis returned for a major renovation, rebuilding the greens from the base and converting the putting surfaces to Bermuda for firmer, more authentic play.
