Why we love this place
We love how the Canyons lets the Hill Country do the talking, all rolling ravines and native grass instead of forced water hazards. It is a big-resort course that still feels wild and honest, and walking a stage the Champions Tour once played never gets old.

About TPC San Antonio - Canyons Course
The Canyons Course anchors the golf side of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country resort, which opened in early 2010 on the city's north side. Pete Dye routed the layout, with Texas touring pro Bruce Lietzke consulting, threading fairways through the limestone ravines and cedar-juniper corridors that give the course its name. Built to a par of 72 and stretching beyond 7,100 yards, it leans on dramatic elevation change and firm native grasses rather than water, staying true to the flow of the rugged terrain and overlooking a large adjacent nature preserve. From 2011 through 2015 the Canyons hosted the PGA Tour Champions' AT&T Championship, later the San Antonio Championship, while the resort's companion Oaks Course, a Greg Norman design, took on the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open.
