About Winnetka Golf Club

Winnetka's municipal course opened in 1917 as a nine-hole layout on drained marshland, with architect William Langford reportedly donating his services to lay it out. It was later expanded to 18 holes, and during the Depression Charles D. Wagstaff led a renovation of the 18-hole course that stayed largely unchanged for decades. The Winnetka Park District, which owns it, hired architect Rick Jacobson for a flood-driven redesign, and the course reopened August 13, 2024.
