Why we love this place

Atkinson has grown from a nine-hole start into a full golf campus, with Phil Wogan's two returning nines, a par-3 course and a teaching academy on one property. We love that the NGCOA named it National Course of the Year in 2015, and that it stays open to everyone seven days a week.

About Atkinson Country Club

Atkinson Country Club opened in 1996 as a nine-hole daily-fee course in southern New Hampshire, close to the Massachusetts border. New England architect Phil Wogan designed the layout, and the course grew to a full 18 holes when the back nine opened in 1998. The two nines are routed as clockwise loops that each return to the clubhouse, set over the rolling terrain typical of the region, and one course guide described the result as short but engaging. The facility kept expanding. A 75,000-square-foot clubhouse with two restaurants, overnight guest rooms and event space opened in 2002, turning the club into the Atkinson Resort & Country Club. In 2009 a nine-hole par-3 course and the WillowCreek Golf Academy were added for beginners and players working on their games. In 2015 the National Golf Course Owners Association named the resort its National Course of the Year, an honor that weighs course quality, ownership and management, community contributions and service to the game.
