About Brainerd Golf Course

Brainerd Golf Course is a City of Chattanooga municipal course on Old Mission Road, dating to the mid-1920s (most sources say 1926) and routed by Donald Ross, whose surviving drawings label the job simply "Chattanooga." The course was reworked by Alex McKay in 1953 and renovated again in 1983, which softened much of the Ross character, though the routing and several original greens remain. Golf writers today point to it as a Ross muni ripe for restoration.
