Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa

Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa opened its championship golf course in 1995 as part of a roughly $27 million, state-sponsored development built on state-owned land in Young Harris, tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Architect Denis Griffiths routed the par-72 layout through rugged mountain terrain, stretching to nearly 6,957 yards, with a Scottish, links-influenced character of open fairways, native grasses and dramatic elevation changes framed by surrounding peaks. Former Georgia governor and Young Harris native Zell Miller was a leading advocate for the project, which paired the course with a lodge and spa. The layout threads along creeks and wooded ridgelines in remote Towns County, and its scenic mountain setting has earned steady recognition among Georgia's better resort tests. Golf Digest and other guides have consistently ranked it among the state's premier public-access courses since it debuted.
