About Brentwood Golf Course

Brentwood opened November 8, 1923 as Jacksonville's first municipal course, a Donald Ross design that hosted the 1930 U.S. National Public Links. After a 1958 desegregation lawsuit the city sold it in 1960, and private owners closed it in 1975. The school board later donated land to First Tee, which opened a new Joe Walter-designed nine-hole course on the site in 2000.
