Cedar Rock Country Club opened in 1965, built by Lenoir businessmen with Hibriten Mountain as the centerpiece. Ellis Maples designed the par-72 course, set in the foothills with Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens. It operates today as a semi-private club in the Cedar Rock community outside Lenoir.
