About Country Club of Whispering Pines - Pines Course
The Country Club of Whispering Pines opened in 1959 with an Ellis Maples design; the original 18 was later split into today's Pines and River courses, with nine more Maples holes added to each. Maples was a protege of Donald Ross, son of Ross's construction chief Frank Maples, and father of architect Dan Maples. The Pines Course reopened in 2026 after a roughly year-long renovation by architect Kyle Franz. The club is semi-private.
