About Charlie Yates Gc At East Lake

A public 9-hole executive course (about 1,953 yards) that opened in 1998 as home of The First Tee of East Lake, part of the East Lake community-revitalization effort. It was designed by Rees Jones on the site of East Lake's old No. 2 Course, originally a Donald Ross design from around 1930. The course is named for Charlie Yates, a two-time Georgia State Amateur and 1938 British Amateur champion who grew up beside East Lake's courses and died in 2005.
