City Park Golf Course

City Park Golf Course, a City & County of Denver municipal course laid out by Tom Bendelow, held its grand opening on September 6, 1913 on land that had been the City Park Dairy Farm, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. From 2017 to 2020 the century-old course was completely rebuilt as part of a stormwater detention project: crews re-graded more than 300,000 cubic yards of earth so the course could slow and clear runoff before it reaches the South Platte River. The award-winning redesign reopened in 2019, preserving over 250 trees, planting about 750 new ones, and adding a relocated clubhouse.
