We love the sense of water everywhere here. Nicklaus used the peninsula between two rivers to full effect, so the round keeps opening onto marsh and tidal light right up to the closing holes. Add a rare chance to have a Nicklaus and a Pete Dye course side by side, and Colleton River feels like a genuine Lowcountry golf destination worth savoring slowly.

About Colleton River Club - Nicklaus Course
The Nicklaus Course at Colleton River Club opened in 1991 as the club's original 18 holes, set on a peninsula between the Colleton and Chechessee Rivers in Bluffton, South Carolina. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the par-72 layout plays to roughly 7,000-plus yards and is celebrated for a dramatic riverfront routing, with several holes running hard against tidal water and marsh. The finishing stretch, framed by wide Lowcountry views, is among the most photographed on the property. Colleton River later added a Pete Dye course and a Dye short course, giving the private club a rare multi-course pairing of two of golf's most influential architects. The community threads its holes through maritime forest, towering live oaks, marshes and tidal creeks, and the club has long been regarded as one of the premier private golf communities in the Hilton Head area. Members know it simply for its water-lined character.
