About Daytona Beach Golf Club

In 1919 the Daytona Golf and Country Club hired Donald Ross to design an 18-hole course, with Ross assistant Walter Hatch supervising; the first nine opened in January 1921 and the full 18 in 1923. The South Course keeps Ross's original layout. Slim Deatherage built the North Course in 1966 (redesigned by Lloyd Clifton in 1997). It is now a public municipal club owned and operated by the City of Daytona Beach.
