Why we love this place
We love Delaware Springs for its minimalist soul at a muni price. Built by Coore & Crenshaw shapers Dave Axland and Dan Proctor before minimalism was a buzzword, it rewards thoughtful play, rolls naturally over Hill Country ground and keeps greens fast enough to surprise anyone.

About Delaware Springs Golf Course
Delaware Springs is the City of Burnet's municipal course, set on about 230 acres of rolling Hill Country terrain northwest of Austin. It opened in 1992 as the first solo design for Dave Axland and Dan Proctor, who had met in 1986 at Kings Crossing, a Bill Coore design in Texas, and went on to shape many courses for the Coore & Crenshaw firm before building Wild Horse in Nebraska under their Bunker Hill banner. Their Burnet routing mixes short par 4s, risk-and-reward par 5s and a wide spread of hole lengths and directions, with restrained bunkering, a creek through the first fairway, and greens quick and tricky enough to rival private clubs. Highlights include the 202-yard par-3 16th over native grass and the pretty short 13th. The city has since bought surrounding land to protect the course from encroaching development.
