Foxborough Country Club traces to the early 1950s, when golfers in the Foxboro Company's four-ball league pushed to build their own course. A committee formed in 1953 and Geoffrey Cornish laid out the original nine holes, which opened in 1957. Cornish returned with Bill Robinson to expand and revise the course to 18 holes around 1970.
