About Houston Country Club

Houston Country Club was chartered in 1908, with its original 18-hole course southeast of downtown designed by Tom McNamara. In the mid-1950s the club relocated to its current site in the Tanglewood area, where Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the present course (opened 1957, work circa 1955-1956). It is one of Houston's oldest and most exclusive private clubs.
