Est. 1926 · Devereux Emmet
Why we love this place
A Devereux Emmet course turned community treasure, where the whole town can swim, play tennis and tee it up on a classic 1920s layout. We love Lake Isle for its Golden Age bones, its family-friendly spirit and the rare chance to play Emmet's work as a local.

About Lake Isle Country Club
Lake Isle Country Club occupies a 116-acre property on White Plains Road in Eastchester that began as a private club. Golf directories date the course to 1926 and credit Devereux Emmet, the Long Island architect behind dozens of Golden Age layouts, with its design, and the club was reportedly once known as Vernon Hills. In 1979 the Town of Eastchester bought the former private club site, added pools and tennis courts, and opened it to the public as a town-owned recreational facility. Today the eighteen-hole course sits alongside a swimming complex with five pools and a tennis center with eight courts, and the club is open to residents of Eastchester, Bronxville and Tuckahoe as well as a limited number of non-residents.
