About Keney Golf Course

Keney Park's front nine, designed by Devereux Emmet, opened on October 13, 1927, to ease crowding at Goodwin Park, then Hartford's only public course. City engineer Robert "Jack" Ross added the back nine around 1930–31. After years of decline the course closed in 2013; the city funded a multimillion-dollar restoration by Dusenberry Design that returned greens, tees and bunkers to Emmet's intent, and the par-70 municipal course reopened in 2016 to strong reviews.
