Miami Shores Country Club opened December 16, 1939, built on an amended plan by architects Robert F. "Red" Lawrence and Louis Wilson after an earlier Donald Ross-proposed course was never built; construction was aided by WPA funding. The 18-hole course is owned by the Village of Miami Shores, is a member of the Florida Historic Golf Trail, and operates as semi-private open to public play.
