Oak Hollow Golf Course opened in 1972 as a municipal course in High Point, North Carolina, and stands as an unusually ambitious piece of public golf: a full Pete Dye design available to everyday players. Set beside Oak Hollow Lake, the layout carries Dye's signature fingerprints throughout, including railroad-tie bulkheads, pot bunkers, peninsula greens, and even an island tee, along with the small, undulating putting surfaces that define his work. Measuring roughly 6,500 yards to a par of 72, it favors strategy and precise placement over raw length. The course drew national recognition during its heyday, at one point appearing among Golf Digest's ranking of the best public courses in America. Decades on, it remains a rare chance to experience authentic Dye architecture at a municipal green fee.
