Panther's Run was the second of Ocean Ridge Plantation's four "Big Cats" courses near Sunset Beach, Tim Cate's first design there. Sources date its opening to 1995 or 1996. It followed Willard Byrd's Lion's Paw (1991) and came before Cate's Tiger's Eye (2000) and Leopard's Chase (2007).
