About Ocean Ridge Plantation - Leopard's Chase

Leopard's Chase is the newest of Ocean Ridge Plantation's four "Big Cats" courses near Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle Beach. Tim Cate designed it, it opened in 2007, and it was named among the best new courses in America. Cate designed three of the four Big Cats: Panther's Run, Tiger's Eye and Leopard's Chase. Lion's Paw, the first, was a Willard Byrd design. It covers more than 220 acres of coastal wetland and native grasses, with TifSport fairways and TifEagle greens, and stretches to 7,155 yards from the back. The par-4 5th plays to a green nearly surrounded by a 90-yard waste bunker, and the par-4 18th climbs to an elevated green beside a man-made waterfall that pours 1,600 gallons a minute over coquina boulders.
