Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Pawleys Plantation is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course that opened in 1988. According to the resort's history, Nicklaus walked the roughly 582-acre site in October 1986 and personally began routing the layout, drawing on his affection for the South Carolina Lowcountry. The result threads through wetlands, tidal marsh, and stands of centuries-old, moss-draped live oaks that define the Pawleys Island landscape. The par-72 design plays around 7,000 yards from the back tees, but its signature identity comes on the closing stretch, where six of the final nine holes run alongside a tidal marsh, demanding precise, committed golf against a striking natural backdrop. Long regarded among Nicklaus's finest and ranked by Golf Digest, it remains one of the Grand Strand's most authentic Lowcountry championship experiences.
