About Poplar Grove Golf Club

Poplar Grove in Amherst is Sam Snead's final design, drawn up from 2002 with his son Jack and Ed Carton, formerly of Tom Fazio's firm, as part of a planned Sam Snead Golf Trail. It opened in 2004, after Snead's death, on a historic estate whose brick manor house (now the clubhouse) dates to 1773, and Golf Digest named it a Best New Upscale Public course in 2005.
