Golf on this Quincy site dates to 1895 and the old Wollaston Golf Club, where a young Francis Ouimet is said to have practiced. When Wollaston moved in the 1970s, the grounds were rebuilt with public funds — George and Tom Fazio redesigned the layout — and it reopened as the Presidents Golf Course, named for Quincy's Adams presidents, in 1977.
