Prestonwood Country Club - Creeks Course

The Creek is the original course at The Clubs of Prestonwood, which a group of Dallas businessmen founded in 1968 as the city's growth pushed north. Fort Worth architect Ralph Plummer laid out the course, carving it from stands of live oak and pecan along the path of White Rock Creek, whose creeks and lakes give the layout its name and much of its difficulty. It is the tighter, more demanding of Prestonwood's two courses, with tree-lined fairways that place a premium on accuracy over power. The design was revised in 1979 by the firm of Finger, Dye and Spann, and around 1991 the club undertook a major renovation that reworked both courses and added a new clubhouse at the Creek. The course carries a long history of hosting professional and state-level competition in the Dallas area.
