About Golf Club of Houston
The Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston, once known as Redstone, sits on the Fall Creek grounds near Humble, northeast of downtown Houston. Rees Jones, working alongside PGA Tour winner David Toms, shaped the layout, which opened around 2005 and was purpose-built to stage the Houston Open. It served as the tournament's home from 2006 through 2018, its wide fairways, sprawling waste bunkers and native wetlands offering a links-inspired canvas the pros could attack. Jones kept early sight lines open and greens receptive, saving the drama for a demanding, water-framed closing stretch. Conditions were often set to prepare players for the following week's Masters. Today it remains a public, championship-caliber test that lets everyday golfers walk the same holes tour stars once did.
