Vaquero Golf Course

Vaquero Club is a tightly guarded, invitation-only enclave in Westlake, just north of Fort Worth, built on land that once formed part of the Circle T Ranch. It opened in 2001 as a Discovery Land Company community, following the developer's template of pairing luxury real estate with a marquee golf course. Tom Fazio routed the original design through rolling terrain dotted with cedar and live oak, framing fairways with thick coastal Bermuda rough and generous sand. The par-71 layout stretches past 7,000 yards from the tips yet stays playable from forward tees. In 2023, architect Andrew Green led a comprehensive renovation, converting sandy expanses into native areas, rebuilding green complexes and reworking several holes. The result blends Fazio's original vision with a refreshed, more natural aesthetic.
