The Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course at Stonewall Resort

The Arnold Palmer Signature Course anchors Stonewall Resort along the shoreline of Stonewall Jackson Lake, tucked inside a West Virginia state park near Roanoke. Designed by Arnold Palmer and his firm, the Palmer Course Design Company, the layout was routed through rolling, wooded Appalachian terrain with generous elevation changes and repeated lake views. Palmer himself kicked off public play in May 2002 before a crowd of nearly 2,000, and the course opened as the centerpiece of the resort's debut that year. Stretching to roughly 7,100 yards at a par of 72, it plays as a stern but scenic test, later earning certification through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for its environmental stewardship. Waterfront holes and mountain backdrops give the round a distinctly resort feel while still rewarding thoughtful, strategic play.
